Yorktown's Jayden Barefield drew triple coverage whenever he lined up at wide receiver against Flatonia.
Yorktown coach Trey Alexander called for a reverse that Barefield turned into an 81-yard touchdown pass in the Wildcats' 33-19 District 15-1A, Division I opening win.
Barefield had a busy night, carrying 14 times for 331 yards and three touchdowns, he also had nine tackles, blocked an extra point and intercepted a pass and returned it 67 yards to be selected as the Class 1A Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Week.
Barefield's older brother, Erin, played quarterback for Yorktown and won the Ford Tough Player of the Week award last year.
Jayden Barefield, a senior, won a gold medal in the 200-meter dash at last season's state track and field meet and earned all-district honors in basketball and baseball.
"Around school and in Yorktown, Jayden is a superstar," Alexander said. "But you'd never know it. He's a humble, polite young man who can either run you over or hit a seam and run past you. He's simply irreplaceable."
