Town Talk: Trooper awarded as Criminal Interdiction Officer of the Year

Trooper Don Plunkett was awarded as Criminal Interdiction Officer of the Year Aug. 16 at the DIAP Conference held in Glendale, Ariz. He was selected by a panel of Former Interdiction Officers of the Year throughout the United States. The award was based on 27 years of criminal interdiction cases with the Texas Department of Public Safety, on the highways of the State of Texas. In his career Trooper Plunkett made 248 criminal interdiction cases seizing over 16,400 pounds of marijuana, 100 kilograms of cocaine and other narcotics, and $2.5 million in U.S. currency.
