The show started with a series of staccato explosions from the roof of 1 O'Connor Plaza.
The crowd packed into De Leon Plaza gasped collectively as the explosions erupted into bursts of color.
The inaugural Bootfest went off without a hitch, closing with a 12-minute fireworks show just before 10 p.m. Saturday.
Bruce Ure, the assistant city manager of Victoria, said officials estimated between 11,000 and 13,000 people attended the fireworks show Saturday evening.
Michelle Gentry, 6, stood wide-eyed, staring up at pyrotechnics that were bright enough to blot out the stars.
"It's pretty," she said.
The show featured rapid fire sparkling bursts of light timed to country and rock tunes with a thumping beat.
"This is great! It's so beautiful," Gracie Garcia, of Victoria, said looking up at the explosions of color. "We need to do this every weekend."
