John Borden and his 8-year-old daughter were transported to Citizens Medical Center Monday after a truck collided with Borden's car.
Borden was driving north on Farm-to-Market Road 1686 near the Wood Hi community in a red 1997 Mitsubishi 3000 GT, when his car was struck by Victoria resident Carolyn Rose driving a 2004 Ford F-150 truck.
Department of Public Safety Trooper Joe Schuler said Rose was driving south on the same highway and attempted to turn into Farmer's Bar and Grill in the 6500 block of Farm Road 1686 about 3:05 p.m. when the two cars collided.
"I just didn't see the car," Rose said.
Borden was driving home from picking up his daughter from William Wood Elementary School.
"It's a crying shame it happened," Rose said.
Borden and his daughter were transported to Citizens Medical Center, and as of 8 p.m., House Supervisor Vickie Mallette said Borden was in stable condition in the emergency room. The condition of Borden's daughter is unknown.
Schuler said Rose declined medical attention at the scene.
