RE: Friends of Victoria Baseball
According to Wikipedia, a changing of the guard refers to a formal ceremony in which sentries providing ceremonial guard duties at important institutions are relieved by a new batch of sentries.
The ceremonies are often elaborate and precisely choreographed. So with that being clarified, I hope the city of Victoria does its part in providing an extravagant and honorable ceremony service to the Friends Of Victoria Baseball. Friends Of Victoria Baseball consisted of volunteers who not only had a love for the game but who also spent hours and hours of hard work and dedication into what once was an eyesore. The renovations that have been done to Riverside Stadium have been greatly appreciated by the fans of baseball and also the players who use the facility. It will be interesting to see if the city can provide the upkeep of a historic stadium as the Friends Of Victoria Baseball have done in the past. In my opinion, this is not a changing of the guard as the city is stating; they are just simply kicking out the Friends Of Victoria Baseball.
