Hearing reset for Calhoun County Youth Rodeo Association treasurer

PORT LAVACA -Nan Canion's pre-trial hearing has been reset again.
Canion, the former treasurer of the organization, was indicted by a Calhoun County grand jury on June 16 on a charge of unlawfully appropriating funds between $20,000 and $100,000 from January 2009 to November 2010, a second-degree felony.
spokesperson with the Calhoun County Youth Rodeo Association said more than $50,000 was missing.
Canion is being represented by William Patterson, a Houston attorney.
Dan Heard, the district attorney for Calhoun County, said the hearing will be a chance to hear any motions or any other pretrial matters before deciding whether to set a trial date. The hearing is scheduled for Nov. 3.
If found guilty, Canion faces two to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
