Top-ranked Pilots blank Jaguars

SHREVEPORT, La. - Matt Lackle pitched a three-hitter to lead LSU-Shreveport to a 9-0 win over the University of Houston-Victoria on Friday at Pilot Field.

The Pilots, ranked No. 1 in the NAIA national poll, improved to 31-3 with their fourth straight win over the Jaguars (11-21).

UHV's only hits were singles by Creighton Hoke, Josh Ledesma and Chad Kruse.

Lackle struck out eight and walked one.

Tanner Hamilton was the losing pitcher, yielding five runs in five innings.

The teams return to Pilot Field for a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at noon.
