Carl J. Blank has been promoted to vice president of credit administration for TrustTexas Bank. Blank, a life-long resident of Cuero, graduated from Sam Houston State and has been with TrustTexas Bank for 16 years.
Lawrence Rossow, associate vice president for institutional effectiveness at the University of Houston-Victoria, recently co-authored an article that appeared in the School Law Reporter Express published by the Education Law Association. The article is titled "Religious Speech as a Consideration for Promotion: Michael S. Adams v. The Trustees of the University of North Carolina-Wilmington (2012)."
Christie Mongeau was named employee of the quarter at Kindred Healthcare. She has been a unit clerk at Kindred for four years.
Kimberly Pickens recently began work as coordinator of facilities sales for the University of Houston-Victoria business services. She helps businesses and organizations find available spaces on campus for meetings and events. Before joining UHV, Pickens worked as a reservation coordinator at the University of Houston main campus. She is a Victoria native and graduated from Victoria High School in 1986.
Nicole Foster is a new advising specialist in the University of Houston-Victoria School of Nursing. She assists prospective and current students with admission and program inquiries. A 2011 UHV graduate, Foster previously worked for the Alief Independent School District in Houston.
Pat Pachta State Farm Insurance Agency is announcing Mary Beth Null has earned her certification and is licensed as a general lines agent by the Texas Department of Insurance and will be joining the Pat Pachta agency.
Linda Wolff of Victoria was elected president of the Texas Folklore Society at the organization's recent 96th annual meeting in Odessa.
She served this past year as TFS vice chair and as program chair for the meeting that included the presentation of 20 papers on Texas folklore.
