Office Seeking: Commissioner Precinct 3

1. Why do you want to serve in this position?

My reasons for seeking re-election is not only to serve the people in Precinct 3, but also to be their voice. I will continue to work tirelessly to physically improve Precinct 3 as economically as possible.

2. What qualifies you to serve in this office?

My 11 years experience is the major factor in what qualifies me for this position. I have attended numerous conferences and am a graduate of the Leadership Academy class. I have also completed the Curriculum 2000 Advance Studies for County Commissioners. In addition, working for a major oil company, being in business for myself, and learning a trade at a young age have helped me to be able to serve as commissioner of Precinct 3.

If re-elected, I will continue to always have the taxpayers in mind, and try to make the best decisions that will affect the constituents in a positive way. I will always stand up for the people of this county, and remember that Precinct 3 has a vote in what happens here. I will continue to maintain the infrastructure within the budget provided by commissioners court.

Office Seeking: County Commissioner Precinct 3

1. Why do you want to serve in this position?

I've lived in Jackson County for a long time. Unfortunately, for as long as I can remember, our elected officials have often been happy with the status quo. If elected, I will treat the position like a business and will work hard to find more efficient ways of operating. I also want to ensure that Jackson County, like so many neighboring counties, benefits from the growth our region has recently undergone. This could provide an important boost to our tax base and should help reduce the tax burden on our citizens of Jackson County.

2. What qualifies you to serve in this office?

I have more than 20 years of experience with a major pipeline company. Most of that time I spent in a supervisory position where I prepared and managed both capital and operating budgets, dealt with regulatory compliance, human resources and safety regulations. I've also owned and operated a feed store in Edna for about 15 years. These experiences have taught me, among many other things, the importance of being fiscally responsible and providing good customer service.

3. If elected, how will you go about effectively serving your constituents?

I've spoken to many residents of Precinct 3 and from these conversations, I've learned a lot about what is expected from a county commissioner. If elected, I will continue to seek input and feedback from the citizens of Precinct 3, to ensure that I am meeting their expectations. As in any successful business, communication is imperative. Should I be elected, this will be the cornerstone of my responsibilities.
