• Political party: Democrat

• Office Seeking: County Commissioner, Precinct 1 Goliad County

Why do you want to serve in this position?

Goliad County is my home. I am from a family who has established a long tradition of public service including public officials, law enforcement officers, firemen and civil servants. As many members of my family did, I proudly served my country. Today, Goliad County has some unique opportunities and challenges. It will take strong decisive leadership to address issues such as Eagle Ford Shale opportunities, uranium mining, the Berclair Naval Air Station and an impending decrease of revenues. The commissioners court addresses all major issues. I am anxious to contribute to and enhance the continued success of the county.

I offer experience and training. I have more than 35 years of business and management experience in the public and private sector. I received my BBA in accounting from Sam Houston State University and earned an MBA from Our Lady of The Lake College in San Antonio. I currently serve as the finance officer for the city of Goliad where I have established solid relationships with local officials and learned the inner workings of the community.

If elected, how will you go about effectively serving your constituents?

I am and will remain accessible and active in the community. As a member of local organizations and in support of local boards, I have learned many of the needs of my constituents. I will be proactive and seek out those constituents who may not have the means or opportunity to otherwise be heard. I will seek support of the dedicated county staff and learn the intricacies of county operations. I will utilize advanced technologies for optimizing processes, communication, and continued training. I will listen to and support the needs of my constituency. • For more information: 210-367-4988, PO Box 361, Goliad, TX 77963,
