PRESCOTT, Ariz.--The men's and women's golf programs University of Houston-Victoria finished play at the Association of Independent Institutions Women's Golf Championships Monday.
The men finished fifth, while the women posted the best 36-hole score in program history to earn a sixth place finish. Senior Morgan DeSive shot a second round 79, but still finished with two-day score of 154, which was good enough for a Top 10 finish.
The University of British Columbia shot a 601 to win its second straight A.I.I. women's championship. The Jaguars women finished with a 656 for the tournament, which was held at Antelope Hills Golf Course.
On the men's side, freshman Steven Jones shot a final round 70 to finish with a 54-hole score of 216. That score was four strokes ahead of teammate Cory Anderson and five shots better fellow freshman Vance Edwards.
