Summertime means pool parties and blockbuster movies.

I can't do much about helping you get abs of steel, but I can help you make sound entertainment choices with the free Flixster app.

To get started, you can sign up with Facebook or create an account.

This application allows you to search for movies, actors and directors as well as find out which movies are opening that weekend.

You can watch the trailer from your phone, get show times in your area and access your Netflix account.

For those who like home entertainment, there is a DVD feature which allows you to see new releases and movies coming soon.

I like the user involvement. Film watchers and critics both rate the films, and their scores are listed separately. You can even read some comments. If you don't want any movie spoilers, I wouldn't recommend it.

The app overall is pretty enjoyable, but have a little patience with the pop-up screens.
