Coast Guard transports man having chest pain on oyster boat

The Port O'Connor Coast Guard station transported a 53-year-old man who was having chest pains while on an oyster boat Thursday morning. The man was taken to a Seadrift bait shop and transported by ambulance to Citizens Medical Center.

PORT O'CONNOR - A 53-year-old man was transported by Coast Guard from an oyster boat in San Antonio Bay to shore after suffering chest pains Thursday morning.

The man's name, city of residence and condition have not been released, but the Port O'Connor Coast Guard station responded to the Refugio County Sheriff's Office medic call about 10:30 a.m., according to a news release from the Coast Guard.

The man was on board the oyster boat with his wife at the time.

The man was taken to Charlie's Bait Camp in Seadrift, where he was transported by Calhoun County emergency service personnel to Citizens Medical Center.
