Golden Crescent Court Appointed Special Advocates will hold its spring event "A Night In Old Havana" at 7 p.m. Monday at The PumpHouse Riverside Restaurant.

The theme of "Let's dance until we drop" will consist of a night of Cuban cuisine, salsa dancing, auction, a bit of Improv, and live music from Michael Perez & Latin Talk.

The premise is to celebrate the work of CASA volunteers who advocate for children who have been abused and neglected, according to the news release.

John K. McKeehan said he wanted to help a cause that was important to him. He donated his time to the event by decorating tables and flooring décor.

"It's important for all children to have support and have a safe environment to grow up in," he said.

Proceeds from the fundraiser go to serve the needs of children in Calhoun, DeWitt, Goliad, Gonzales, Jackson, Lavaca, Refugio and Victoria counties.
