Students from the Victoria College Jazz Combo and Commercial Music Ensemble have been preparing since Jan. 16 to perform their second annual Concert in the Quad.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. Monday in the school's quad and is free to the public.

Jonathan Anderson, the director, said the students' transformation has been amazing. He said it's a pleasure to work with the talented kids.

"It's a joy to work with these kids everyday," he said.

The band will play a variety of music from Chic Correa, Duke Ellington and Miles Davis.

Anderson said that pleasant weather and the ambience are ideal elements for the concert.

"Anytime you do an outdoor concert, that adds a lot of character," he said.
