Victoria residents who want to learn more about Victoria College's proposed $22 million bond proposal for an Emerging Technology Center can attend one of two information sessions this week.

The first one is Tuesday in the Cade Middle School cafeteria, 611 W. Tropical Drive. The second session is Thursday in the Howell Middle School cafeteria, 2502 Fannin St.

The sessions will be from 6 to 7 p.m.

VC President Tom Butler and Vice President of College Advancement and External Affairs Jennifer Yancey will host each session. They will share VC's plans to meet local workforce training needs, and participants will have an opportunity to ask questions.

"Meeting current and future workforce needs is an important issue for Victoria," Butler said. "Community input is essential in determining how to address those needs."

The bond will be on the May 12 ballot. Early voting began Monday.

"The will of the community is only expressed if everyone votes," Butler said.

Additional information about the bond election and the Emerging Technology Center is available online at 2012.
