Kendalyn Sue Ann Jacobsmeyer and Cory Wayne Vardaman, both of Inez, were married at 5 p.m. on August 4, 2012 at the Raisin L Ranch in Raisin. Rev. Marilyn Von Roeder, Associate Pastor at First United Methodist Church in Victoria, officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Linda Howerton, of Hubbard, and Richard Jacobsmeyer, of Lolita. She is the granddaughter of Reba Merryman, of Talihina, Oklahoma, the late Mary Elaine Zenker, and the late Elmer Ross Jacobsmeyer.
The groom is the son of Leon O. and Deborah Kay Vardaman, of Inez. He is the grandson of Leon K. and Naomi Vardaman, of Victoria, and Lawrence and Caroline Harrington, of Mission Valley.
Rebecca Jacobsmeyer, of Placedo, attended as maid of honor. Mary Aslin Kennedy, of San Diego, Calif., attended as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Leanne Salazar, of Edna, and Kelsey Anne Vardaman, of Victoria. Flower girls were Faith Provorse, Britney Alison, and Saige Byars, of Blessing, Texas.
Robert Redus, of San Marcos, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jonathan Williams, of Richmond, Dustin Kulak, of Victoria, and Bandy Dunkelberger, of Placedo. Gatlin Wyatt Dunkelberger, of Placedo, served as ring bearer. Ushers were Austin O'Brien and Fredrick Harrington, both of Victoria.
A reception was held following the ceremony at the Raisin L Ranch. The couple will honeymoon in Ireland and will reside in Pearland.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Industrial High School and is a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Citizen's Medical Center, and a December 2012 candidate graduate of Victoria College, Associate Nursing Program. She is the secretary of the Victoria College Student Nurse Association, which participates in several community service activities.
The groom is a 2004 graduate of Industrial High School. He joined the Texas Army National Guard with a tour in Kosovo, then transferred to the 101st Airborne Division with a tour in Iraq. He graduated summa cum laude in May from Texas State University in San Marcos with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and received a Certification in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He is currently employed as a GIS Technician with the City of Pearland.
