Memorial High School alumna graduates magna cum laude from Texas A&M

Kaylyn Griffin, a 2009 Memorial High School magna cum laude graduate, graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station on May 12, also as a magna cum laude graduate. She received the recognition of being The Distinguished Honor Graduate for the Health College at Texas A&M and was honored with a ceremony, plaque, gift and social on May 11 by her professors. The Distinguished Honor Graduate was selected by the professors from the highest GPAs in that particular college based on grades, merit, activities, exemplary student life and extra-curricular organizations. Griffin has been accepted to the fast-track program for nursing through UTMB in Galveston. She is the daughter of John and Rhonda Griffin Sheffel and Stephen and Diane Griffin, all of Inez. She is the granddaughter of JoAnn Griffin, of Yorktown, and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Lee Koenning, of Cuero.
