Sister M. Alberta Novosad, of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament, will host a book signing Wednesday at the Friench Simpson Memorial Library in Hallettsville.

Novosad's book, "Texas Footprints: In the Sands Of Time," is a historical retelling of the foundation of Incarnate Word order from Lyon, France, and how the sisters traveled to America in the 1800s and established in the wilds of Texas.

The original French sisters were in their early 20s, unfamiliar with American culture, and did not know English before arriving in New Orleans.

In addition to the signing, Novosad will be reading excerpts from the book. The public is invited to attend at no cost.

It is the first published work for the 89-year-old sister, who is a retired educator and resident of the Incarnate Word Convent in Victoria.
