Three Generals make All-TCL team

The Victoria Generals placed three players on the All-Texas Collegiate League team announced Tuesday.

Right-handed pitcher Jordan Pacheco, second baseman Chad Kruse and outfielder Jude Vidrine were selected to the squad from the Generals, who lost in the league's championship series.

Pacheco, a Victoria West graduate who plays at Texas-San Antonio, went 6-2 on the season with a 1.90 ERA and had 50 strikeouts.

Kruse, who plays at the University of Houston-Victoria, hit .294 with two home runs, one triple, 13 doubles and 36 RBIs, while scoring 38 runs.

Vidrine, who plays at Lamar, led the TCL with 39 walks and a .459 on-base percentage. He hit .317 with four home runs, nine doubles and 28 RBIs, while scoring 28 runs. Vidrine missed the playoffs with an injury.

Kyle Kubat of the league-champion East Texas Pump Jacks was named the Pitcher of the Year and the Freshman of the Year.

Michael Aquino of The Woodlands was chosen as the Player of the Year and Brazos Valley's Curt Dixon was picked as coach of the year.
