Attendees at the 130th annual Sacred Heart Parish Fall Picnic Sunday will have it made in the shade.
Recently completed renovations at the Knights of Columbus Hall guarantee that those waiting in line to eat can do so in the shade.
"Everything is all under one roof," said the Rev. John Peters, of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. "With the completed additions at the hall, everyone should be in the shade. And, there's plenty of parking."
The meal of country-fried chicken, stew and homemade cornbread dressing will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Drive-thru plates are available until 1 p.m.
Plates are $8 and $4 for children.
In addition to the good eats, the Kovanda Czech Band will play on the main pavilion from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. At 1 p.m., a free dance will begin until 9 p.m. with the Dujka Brothers and the Red Ravens.
The auction, featuring three quilts from the Sacred Heart Quilting Circle, begins at 1 p.m.
Other activities include bingo, from noon to 6 p.m., a cake walk, country store, children's games and rides and a washer pitching tournament at 5 p.m.
The Sacred Heart Youth are also sponsoring a Guinea Pig Plop.
