Three women were hurt Friday when the driver of their sport utility vehicle lost control after a rear tire blew near Hillje.

Traveling south on U.S. Highway 59, the women were returning to San Diego from Houston, said Department of Public Safety Trooper Mark Contreras.

Stella Adams, 40, was driving the 2001 Lincoln Navigator in the left lane when the blowout caused the vehicle to skid and roll over into a grassy median.

The driver and passengers - Soila Garcia, 36, and Marisol Gonzales, 16 - were injured and taken to Memorial Hermann Medical Center for further examination, Contreras said.

Details about their injuries were unavailable late Friday.
