Students from South Texas College of Law recently claimed top honors at the 19th Annual Burton D. Wechsler First Amendment Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C. More than 30 teams entered the competition where students argued a First Amendment case involving the leaking and publishing of combat troop information, which led to three deaths. The South Texas team of Coleman Proctor, Evan Howze and Chris Jordan, of Victoria, were undefeated throughout the tournament. The group representing South Texas College of Law, from left, are Howze, Proctor, Coach Avi Moshenberg, Associate Dean T. Gerald Treece, Jordan, Assistant Director of Advocacy Rob Galloway and South Texas President and Dean Donald J. Guter.
