HOOPS ROUNDUP: Graff scores 21 as Faith boys win; St. Joseph rolls

Faith Academy 71,Providence Academy 63

FORT WORTH - Geoffrey Graff scored 21 points for Faith Academy (16-7) in the Cougars' high-scoring victory over Providence Academy Thursday night.

Faith won the game 71-63 and had players post double-digit scoring numbers.

The game was close throughout with just a single point seperating the two schools at halftime, 35-34. In the second half, the Cougars' defense slowed down Providence's offense, allowing just 27 points in the half.

Jonathan Luck scored 14 points, Conway Pearson and Jacob Nunez each had 11.

St. Joseph 74, Dallas Sunset 63

FORT WORTH - St. Joseph jumped out to a 21-8 lead over Sunset High School in the Nolan Catholic Varsity tournament Thursday, en route to a 74-53.

Clayton Janak led the way for the Flyers with 26 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

Jerry Vasquez had 20 points and four steals.

Sunset made the game interesting at halftime with 19 points scored, cutting the deficit to 34-27.

However, St. Joseph stormed ahead with an 18-point effort in the third quarter.

Barclay Proctor and Doug Wall each finished with eight points. Proctor added four assists.

Aaron Kovar led the Flyers with nine rebounds.
