The Crescent Bend International Society of Automation on Tuesday is hosting the 39th annual Instrumentation Exhibit to raise money for scholarships.

The trade show will feature area vendors displaying the latest in instrumentation, measurement and control technologies. Door prizes will also be given away.

Alissa Villarreal, who's been organizing the event for about 10 years, said the exhibit mostly attracts engineers, technicians and maintenance personnel from area plants but that often other members of the public like to check out the latest technologies.

The show will feature about 50 vendors and each year attracts between 400 to 500 people, Villarreal said.

Profits received from the vendors will go toward area high school and college students.

The Golden Crescent ISA covers Victoria, Port Lavaca, Seadrift, Greenlake and Point Comfort areas and raises scholarship funds through various events, like a golf and fishing tournaments.

The event is free and open to the public.
