Thumbs-up to the Victoria East Cheerleaders on the Competition Squad and their sponsor, Kristie Dickens, for a great job at the UCA National High School Cheerleading Competition this past weekend. They placed 2nd in the Small Varsity Division 1. They competed against 38 other squads from around the United States. After many hours of conditioning, practicing and fundraising, the girls reached their dream, competing in the most prestigious cheerleading competition in Orlando, Fla. The 1st place winner won by just .6 of a point. The girls and coaches have already started practicing and planning to win the championship in 2013. Victoria, give them a hand. Congratulations to Victoria East Cheerleaders on the Competition Squad of 2011-2012.

Thumbs-up to the Victoria East High School Competition Cheerleaders, their sponsor, Kristie Dicken, and their choreographer, Shaina Mayberry for placing 2nd place in the nation at the NHSCC in Orlando, Fla. on Feb. 12. Their hours of practice, their patience and their determination have paid off. We are all so proud of these ladies.

Thumbs-up to all the Victorians who helped with the Victoria East Cheerleaders' fundraisers this past year to help pay for the girls to attend the UCA National High School Cheerleading Competition. Without their generosity, the girls would not have been able to reach for their dreams. Thank you so very much.

Thumbs-down to the parents speeding through the school zones because they are running behind, then allow their kids to be late for school! Also to the parents on their cell phones, cussing out loud; great act for your kids to follow.
