Steven A. Sudheimer recently earned his eagle scout rank. He is the youngest son of Don and Amelia Sudheimer, of Victoria. Steven joins older brothers Chris and Michael Sudheimer as an eagle scout. His project was constructing a rainwater collection system at the Keep Victoria Beautiful-Hiller House. It involved construction of a support rack for four rain storage barrels, outfitting the barrels with valves, installing gutters, building PVC pipe manifolds and tying them into an existing underground piping network.

Steven coordinated 234 man-hours of work from seven youth and six adult volunteers. The project was made possible through discounted prices on building materials from Lowes and McCoys, and donations from Klean Corp International.

Sudheimer earned 36 merit badges as a boy scout in BSA Troop 364 at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral. He completed high adventure expeditions to Philmont Scout Ranch-New Mexico and to Charles A. Sommers Northern Tier Canoe Base in Ely. He is attending Victoria College, with an interest in obtaining a science or engineering degree and plays drums as a hobby with a small group of musicians.
