Drugs, guns and money confiscated

Eight people were arrested and drugs, money and guns were confiscated during a raid in two Victoria homes Thursday morning.
The Victoria Police Department Special Crimes Unit was assisted by the Victoria County Sheriff's Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Officers confiscated the following at the home in the 900 block of Shannon Street were a handgun, a vehicle, 26 plants of marijuana and about $170 in cash.
Confiscated at the home in the 100 block of Fillmore Street were more than $68,000 in suspected drug-related money, 4 pounds of cocaine with an estimated street value of $50,000, 11/2 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of about $1,000, one body armor flap-jacket, 200 rounds of ammunition, two AK47s, two pump-action shotguns, one SKS, a bolt-action rifle, a semi-automatic rifle, a single-shot shotgun, two semi-automatic pistols and a revolver.
The raid was conducted based on information gathered by the police department's Special Crimes unit in an ongoing investigation of drug related incidents in Victoria.
