Two people were found dead in Calhoun County about an hour apart Saturday morning.
A woman was found dead on Magnolia Beach and a man was found at a home in the Seadrift bay front an hour apart about 9 a.m. Saturday, said Calhoun County Sheriff BB Browning.
Nicholas Aaron Rudd, 25, of Seadrift, was found in his home in the 1100 block of West Bay Avenue by his brother Bryan Keith Rudd , said his grandmother Joyce Rudd.
"He just turned 25 on the 27th of December. He expired sometime early Saturday morning, we were told," the grandmother said. "His brother thought he was just sleeping late, but by the time he went to wake him up, he was already gone."
Keith Rudd, Nicholas and Bryan's father, said Nicholas complained of pain in his left side while he was at a family reunion in Lake Jackson on Thursday.
Nicholas was home from school at Gary Job Corps in San Marcos where he was studying to be a certified welder. He planned to return on Sunday to begin his final course for his certification.
The identity of the Magnolia Beach woman is unknown at this time, the sheriff said.
Justice of the Peace Nancy Pomykal held inquests in both deaths. She ordered an autopsy be performed in both, the sheriff said.
They were sent to the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office in Austin for an autopsy, Browning said.
The causes of death are unknown at this time.
