Crime: Attempted robbery.

On the morning of Sept. 9, a Hispanic man entered a business in the 1600 block of N. Laurent Street just as it was opening for the day. The man is described as being between 5 feet 1 inch to 5 feet 3 inches tall; he was wearing a long-sleeve black shirt and blue jeans.

The man displayed a handgun and demanded money from the employee. The employee was able to get to safety and secure the front doors. The man forced his way out of the business and fled on foot.
