JACKSON COUNTY - Several controlled burns have led to 911 calls about smoke in the area.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office has received several calls about fires in the area, a dispatcher said Monday afternoon.

A large plume of smoke in the Vanderbilt and La Salle area that was called in at about 2:45 p.m. is also a controlled burn.

The county lifted its burn ban last week, the dispatcher said.
