Cuero police are investigating allegations of sexual contact between a child and adult, which may have occurred on the French Elementary School campus.

No charges have been filed nor arrests made, Cuero Police Chief Jay Lewis said Wednesday.

Lewis added that the suspect is not an employee of the school district.

Cuero school district Superintendent Henry Lind said the suspect was an independent contractor who was testing a student.

Child Protective Services has also been contacted, he added.

"The Cuero Police Department is in the process of conducting interviews with potential witnesses and the alleged victim," Lewis said. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the police at 361-277-3552.
