Children's Discovery Museum in partnership with Victoria school district's Mitchell Guidance Center presents Texas Our Texas on March 8-10.

The event is a chance to step back in time and celebrate the state's unique heritage in remembrance of Texas Independence Day.

Texas heritage organizations will set up camps and artifacts displays to share their skills and knowledge of various aspects of Texas history including pioneer men and women, Buffalo Soldiers, Native Americans, the Texas Camel Corp., Traylor Livery, Badland Texas Rangers, Spanish colonial soldiers, and more.

Thursday and Friday of the three-day event are primarily reserved for student field trips. Any grade level is welcomed but special consideration will be given to fourth through seventh grade classes. Field trips begin at 9 a.m. Teachers must call to reserve a time in advance.

General admission on March 10 is $3 per person or $5 for both Texas Our Texas and the Children's Discovery Museum.
