A Victoria man was sentenced to 40 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of three counts of promotion of child pornography.

Kenneth Timothy Zavadil, 51, was sentenced to 20 years in prison on each count by a Victoria County jury on Friday, according to news release from the Victoria County District Attorney's Office.

District Judge Robert Cheshire ruled Zavadil will serve the first 20-year sentence before beginning the remaining two terms which will be served at the same time.

Zavadil was indicted in February 2010 on 21 counts of third-degree felony possession of child pornography.

Investigators with the Department of Public Safety recovered more than 500 images of child pornography from his home while serving a search warrant on May 7, 2009.

He also sexually assaulted two victims, according to the news release.

Assistant Victoria County District Attorney Johna Stallings prosecuted the case.

Zavadil was represented by court-appointed attorney Keith Weiser.
