The juggernaut continued to roll, this time more smoothly than the last. Victoria East recorded its fourth shutout in six games with a 5-0 win over visiting Calallen Friday evening.

The Titan boys have had little problem scoring through six games, but they received some help from Calallen at the outset. A 15th minute own goal by the Wildcats gave East the lead and was the start of a goal rush.

Juan Chavarria scored in the 23rd minute and assisted Cole Fimbel's goal a minute later. East finished off the game in the 10 minutes after intermission with two quick goals. Fimbel scored his seventh goal in six games. Fellow midfielders Casey Brown and Joel Gonzales combined for the fifth goal.

Tim Eaton said the speed and technical ability of his players make East a formidable side, but there are still things his team can improve upon. He felt Friday's game was an opportunity to improve, even in a contest that wound up one-sided.

"The number of offsides is something you'll learn," Eaton said. "It's something we can correct. It was important for the players that are getting minutes to find out what they need to do to get better."

Victoria East (6-0-0) will host El Campo Tuesday at Memorial Stadium. In two home dates the Titans have not allowed a goal. Ricky Stratmann and AJ Cervantes combined for Friday's shutout.

Someone finally breached the Victoria West defense. Brenham beat the Warriors 3-0 in the semifinals of the Brenham Select Cup Friday. Prior to the game, Victoria West had not allowed a goal in more than 240 minutes of play in the 2012 season.

Victoria West (2-1-1) will play Bastrop Cedar Creek in Saturday's the third place match.
