Generals lose on walk-off homer

DALLAS - McKinney's Evan Ramsey snapped the Victoria Generals' four-game winning streak with a two run home run in the bottom of the ninth that lifted the Marshals to a 5-3 win at the Jesuit Prep School on Sunday.

Victoria relief pitcher Daniel Tunchez Jr. was on the hill in the ninth inning and the loss drops his record to 2-2.

The loss drops Victoria's record to 16-9 and keeps them in second place, 4 and 1/2 games behind the East Texas Pump Jacks in the Texas Collegiate League standings.

Generals catcher Eric Weiss paced the Generals offense going 3-for-5 from the plate with a home and two runs scored.

Generals designated hitter Andrew Stumph added another homer and was 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Victoria starting pitcher Tyler Schnuriger gave up one earned run on six hits in seven innings of work. He struck out three batters.

The Generals play at East Texas on Monday then return home for a two-game series against the Alexandria Aces beginning on Tuesday.
