A fire that originated in a bedroom caused minor smoke damage to a home on Mexico Road on Tuesday morning.
Victoria Fire Department personnel and the Victoria County Fire Marshal's Office responded to the fire about 9:30 a.m. at 488 Mexico Road.
"When we arrived, there was a slight amount of smoke coming out the bedroom window," said Victoria Fire Department Capt. Gregory Najvar. "The fire had put itself out and all occupants had made their way out of the building. Nobody was injured."
The Victoria County Fire Marshal's Office investigated the fire.
The home, owned by Lisa Hernandez and Joshua Sanchez, sustained about $1,500 in damage, said assistant chief David Phillips.
"A small fire was discovered by Ms. Hernandez in the children's bedroom behind an old television. The exact cause of the fire is undetermined at this time," Phillips said.
