Victoria Police Department officers are investigating a robbery that occurred about 6:20 p.m. Monday at Diva's bar in Victoria.

Victoria Police Lt. Ralph Buentello said an employee of the bar, which is located in the 1000 block of South Laurent Street, reported a man in his early 20s, with a thin build and no facial hair, wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a dark ball cap, walked into the bar Monday and physically assaulted the employee before stealing an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. The man then fled the bar on foot.

Buentello said the suspect did not have a weapon, and there were no other patrons or staff inside the establishment when the robbery occurred.

Officers canvassed the area and were unable to locate the man. No arrests have been made, Buentello said.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call Victoria Crime Stoppers at 361-572-4200.
