Family members of Michael Villela have set up an account with TDECU to help pay for his funeral expenses.
Villela, 38, was killed in a one-vehicle wreck Saturday morning near Yoakum.
He was ejected from an 18-wheeler after it crashed into a tree on Alternate U.S. Highway 77 in DeWitt County between Cuero and Yoakum.
Villela was driving a truck for Basic Energy Services and was pronounced dead at the scene.
He leaves behind his wife, Desirey Hernandez and six children ages 2-15 years old.
Loved ones described him as a devoted husband and committed father.
"He really was an amazing dad and husband, said his sister-in-law Heather Wood. "He worked hard to make sure his family had everything."
The funeral is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna.
Villela will be buried at Memory Gardens in Edna.
