A Victoria firefighter injured during a February rappelling accident returned to full duty Thursday.
Ray Gregory was hurt Feb. 14 when he fell about 30 feet during a recertification exercise for members of the High Angle Rescue Team, according to a city of Victoria news release.
Firefighters were rappelling down the side of the Victoria Tower building, 1908 N. Laurent St., at the time.
Gregory, 43, previously told the Advocate he was lowering himself to play a victim in an exercise when he lost control and fell.
Firefighters on hand immediately treated him, and he was taken to an area hospital. He suffered a cracked pelvis, fractured pubic bone and two compression fractures to the spine.
Recovery included two weeks in the hospital, surgery and almost two months of rehabilitation therapy.
Gregory returned to work earlier on light duty, but took on full duty Thursday at fire station No. 2.
