Out of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence, 27 were ordained ministers and 54 of 56 were solid Christians, two were agnostics (not sure of God). They are the two the media holds up as examples.
The first English Bible printed in America was done by the Congress of the United States for use in the public schools system. The Ten Commandments were posted in the public schools. Public schools started the day with prayer to God and the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States.
The United States is the only country in the world that has had the same form of government for the past 230 years. It is the only nation in the world that has not averaged a revolution every 30 or 40 years. France has had 15 forms of government in that time.
These excellent historical facts come from a DVD by David Barton called "Is America a Christian Nation" from Wallbuilders.
According to information from the United States Conference of Bishops, hundreds of people have lost their jobs at Catholic adoption agencies in Massachusetts, Illinois, San Francisco & others, because they refused to send children to same-sex or gay families, as the new Obama regulations require. Now more regulations from Obama will cause thousands of workers at Catholic hospitals, from janitors to doctors, to lose their jobs because they will refuse to providing insurance that pays for birth control and abortions, as Obama regulations require. President Obama has thrown down the gauntlet with the new HHS Mandate (Obamacare) law that basically says: "We are no longer a Christian nation and we will have a socialist state where abortion is paid for by the government and freedom of religion no longer exist."
The Catholic Bishops have called for a "Fortnight for Freedom" asking for everyone to fast and pray to God to preserve our form of government and our nation. Start on June 21st until the Fourth of July, Please join in this historical national two weeks of prayer.
