The University of Houston at Victoria will take over hosting duties from Texas State University for the annual Claud Jacobs/ Victoria Country Club Collegiate Invitational golf tournament.

The announcement was made during a Tuesday news conference on campus.

The tournament will have a few new wrinkles in February with an entirely NAIA field and both men's and women's teams competing.

The tournament will keep the Saturday College-Am portion with the men's teams competing at VCC on Sunday and Monday while the Women will play at Colony Creek Country Club on those days.

Tournament sponsor Claud Jacobs said the tournament will provide free advertising to both UHV and the city of Victoria while UHV golf coach Brian Williamson said he sent out invitations to the Top 25 NAIA programs in the nation late last week and as of Tuesday, 12 programs have accepted invitations.

Among the teams that have committed are the University of Victoria (British Columbia), Wayland Baptist and Grand View.
