Generals blast league-leading Pump Jacks

Daniel Tunchez pitched four innings of scoreless relief to pick up his first Texas Collegiate League win as the Victoria Generals rolled to a 10-1 win over the East Texas Pump Jacks on Wednesday night at Riverside Stadium.

Tunchez came on in the fourth inning for fellow Memorial graduate Jeremy Flores and yielded two hits and struck out one.

Jake McMurtry finished the game with two hitless innings of relief.

The Generals (6-4) had 14 hits against the league-leading Pump Jacks (7-2), including home runs by Billy Richard and Jude Vidrine.

Richard had three hits and Chad Kruse, Rudy Flores and Trent Wagner each had two.

The Generals have Thursday off before returning to Riverside Stadium to play the Alexandria Aces on Friday.
