Dr. Ron Manderscheid, who has served in several roles with the National Institute of Mental Health and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration, will speak at the Johnson Symposium 10 a.m.-noon Monday.

Manderscheid will speak about the healthcare transformation in America and at home in regards to mental health and primary health.

Don Polzin, Gulf Bend's executive director, said the message Manderscheid will speak about affects healthcare managers and providers alike. Everyone can benefit from the speech, he added.

"Healthcare nationally and locally will be undergoing dramatic changes in the future," Polzin said in an email.

Some of the emphasis of the talk will concern the integration of primary and behavioral health care, Polzin said.

Manderscheid is known for his leadership in advances in mental health research, as well as the well-being of mental health consumers, according to the press release.

About 200 seats are available and there is no cost. Seating is based on first come, first served.
