Three men were arrested Sunday on charges of burglary and engaging in organized criminal activity after a Nordheim grocery store was burglarized Friday night or early Saturday morning.

Arrested were Joshua C. Cruz, 21, of Karnes City; John E. Coffman, 19, of Austin; and Alfredo G. Villarreal, 20, of Karnes City, according to a news release from the DeWitt County Sheriff's Office.

Damages to Broadway Grocery and loss of merchandise totaled $2,000, but most of the stolen goods, mostly beer and cigarettes, were recovered after the arrests, according to the news release.

Bonds were set at $10,000 each for the burglary charge and $5,000 each for the engaging in criminal activity charge for all three men.
