Generals sweep Cane Cutters

YOUNGSVILLE, La. - The Victoria Generals earned a sweep of the Acadiana Cane Cutters by pitching a 3-0 shutout.

It was the second straight night the Generals shut out the Cane Cutters. Victoria improves to 12-7 and is 3 and 1/2 games behind first place East Texas.

Generals starter Tyler Schnuriger earned his first win of the year by holding the Cane Cutters to four hits and striking out seven. He is 1-2 on the season.

Brandon Tierney put the Generals ahead for good with a two-run home run in the top of the third.

Alex Klonowski added a solo home run in the top of the fourth to round out the scoring.

The Generals return to Riverside Stadium on Monday against Brazos Valley.
