Calhoun Air Center will sponsor Girl Power 2 and honor the Women of Aviation of the past and the present as well as to reach out and introduce girls and women to the opportunities that aviation has to offer.
Airport manager, Dianna Stanger will defend her title after 98 flights in a helicopter during last year's Women of Aviation Worldwide Week.
Stanger and pilot Victoria Holt will give first flights from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. on March 10 and 11 at the Calhoun County Airport and Victoria Regional Airport. Girls who are interested in aviation will have the opportunity to receive a discovery flight free of charge if they are a part of a nonprofit organization or church group in Calhoun or Victoria counties.
