A Victoria man remained in a hospital more than a week after he was stabbed during a fight.
Michael Alvarez, 19, was stabbed about 4:40 p.m., Feb. 27, near 1810 E. Colorado St., Patrol Officer Robert Swanson said. His stepfather, Gustavo Trevino, 49, is charged with stabbing him several times, the officer said.
Alvarez fled the scene and called for help from an apartment in the 2100 block of North Ben Jordan Street.
When officers found Trevino, he was uninjured and spattered with blood. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and family violence.
Alvarez was transported to Citizens Medical Center. Shannon Spree, a hospital spokeswoman, said Tuesday he remains in the hospital in stable condition.
