A Honduran man was transported by ambulance to Citizens Medical Center about 8 p.m. Sunday following a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Houston Highway and Ben Jordan Street.
The man was driving a white, 2004 Dodge Neon west on Houston Highway, when he attempted to turn left on Ben Jordan Street.
"We don't have him identified because we think he's an illegal alien," Eyre said.
Victoria Police Officer Sam Eyre said the left turning signal at the intersection turned red, and he continued to make the turn. The Honduran man's vehicle was struck on the front passenger side by a 1996 Ford pickup, driven by Dustin McDaniel, driving east on the same highway.
McDaniel, 21, of Kentwood, La., was transporting Alex Cain, 19, of Denham Springs, La. Both declined medical treatment at the scene.
Eyre said the Honduran man's condition is unknown at Citizens Medical Center.
No citations were given at the scene.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Coby's Auto & Wrecker Service and Auto Mid-Coast Parts.
