Cheryl Lagrega was stabilized by medical authorities after a Tuesday morning wreck. Patrol Officer B. Allen said Lagrega and an unidentified man who was a passenger in the truck were taken to Citizens Medical Center.

Two people were taken to Citizens Medical Center after a wreck at 10:23 a.m. Tuesday on Houston Highway and Ben Wilson Street.

Cheryl Lagrega, of Victoria, is thought to have run a red light traveling east on Houston Highway in a Mercury Mountaineer, said Patrol Officer B. Allen with the Victoria Police Department.

Lagrega's SUV struck a Dodge 1500 truck driven by Robert Modrano, of Victoria, who was traveling south on Ben Wilson.

Modrano refused treatment. His unidentified male passenger was transported. Lagrega, who was driving by herself, also was taken to the hospital.

Victoria Fire Department Battalion Chief Roger Hempel said the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. Allen said Lagrega seemed to be responsive.

No citations were issued on the scene, but an investigation will continue, Allen said.
